If you have cancer or care for someone with cancer and live in one of the towns we serve,
then it’s likely you qualify for our service
For People With Cancer
We can come to your home and provide a massage session that is tailored to what is appropriate for you. That might mean a massage that looks very different from what you would get at a massage therapy office. For instance, you need not be able to get onto a massage table. You don’t need to disrobe the way people often do in a massage office. We might massage only your head and shoulders, or your feet and hands. You don’t have to be experiencing physical pain from your cancer or treatment. Our goal is to help in any way that massage and compassionate touch can.
For Caregivers
The primary caregivers of people with cancer face tremendous challenges. The physical and emotional stresses can seem overwhelming. We hope to help with that, as well. So if you are caring for someone who is in treatment for cancer or nearing the end of life, and you live in our region, then you qualify for massage from Hand to Heart, as well.
To Make a Referral
Hand to Heart gets referrals from hospitals, visiting nurse and hospice agencies, churches and other sources in our communities, as well as from people wanting us to help a friend or family member. No matter who is making the referral, it’s easy to do.
The best way is to ask the person with cancer (or the caregiver) if he or she would like a massage home visit from our program, or would like to get more information about the program. If the answer is yes, then just provide us with the person’s contact information and we’ll take it from there.
Or you can give our phone number or email to that person, so that they can contact us. Either way works.
